How a map of planetary lines works
Your map is drawn from where each body stood in the sky at the moment you were born.
What is a planetary line?
A line on a world map where, at the moment you were born, a body stood on the horizon, overhead or at its lowest point. Each of twelve bodies has four lines: Ascendant, Descendant, Midheaven and Imum Coeli.
Do I have to live on a line?
No. A line is a band that fades with distance, not a thin stroke. A place counts as on a line within 300 km, near it to 600 km and in its background to 800 km; beyond that a line is ignored. The report also tells a visit apart from living somewhere.
Why does my exact birth time matter?
Every line moves with your birth time. A time that is 4 minutes off shifts all lines east or west by about 1° of longitude, up to roughly 110 km, and an hour off, for example a wrong summer-time setting, by about 15°. That is why the report needs an exact time and cannot be made without one.
Which places does it look at?
You can name up to five places you are considering, or none. For the priorities you choose, it also looks at a fixed list of cities around the world, leaving out some countries, such as those at war or under comprehensive sanctions. A place you name is always read, with a reminder to check current official travel advice.
When do I enter my birth details?
After payment: your birth place, date and exact time, the places you are considering, and the priorities, regions and length of stay you care about. The report is generated automatically once you confirm them.
